Nice clean coin that looks original, just look at the edge to confirm.
It would have to grade high MS for it to be worth sending in for grading
which this cent might, I'll leave that up to the grading experts

Looks original to me--given the posted images. Might be pushing MS66+. Very nice.

decent steelie. I have it at MS66+.

value wise on ebay they are selling for $40 at 66 you're looking at and at 67 $170

if you dont have a subscription to PCGS and decide to slab it through them it would cost you about $80. personally I dont slab my coins and the reason is that it chews up the coins value and takes decades if ever to recover the costs. if you are planning on selling it then it may be an option but if it comes back less than 67 you're throwing your $$ down the drain.

By all means send that bad boy out for grading . I'll say MS-66 all day with chance of a 67.

65/66 at best, not worth the money for grading IMO. Even in the high grades, these are common and not worth much.

Tough call. Might go 67, but even then it's not a windfall.

I was just looking at some MS68's online (most are incredibly beautiful) but how did this get such a high grade? Die cracks don't count ?

Nope. They are a part of the die at the time the coin was struck.

Also, graders are looking at the normal size coin in their hands. They aren't looking at enlarged images that allow them to see nicks and ticks. Closer scrutiny (a loupe) is reserved for higher grades, errors, or variety coins.

MS-66+ with a good chance at 67.
The obverse carries him.
Very nice pick up!
