i recently inherited this medal, but know nothing about its origins other than it is at least 50 years old and somehow made its way to Australia.

diameter is 52mm, and is about 2mm thick.

the image on the side with what I have been told is a Cyrillic script certainly looks similar to many medals with depictions of St George.

but haven't been able to find any images online that closely resemble the relief of the bust on the other side

Hoping somebody may be able to steer me in the right direction.
