Sure looks like the 1942 P DDO to me. I know it's very subtle but up close you can't miss the doubling below the eyelid. You can also make out the doubling inside the NW corner of the 9 in the date marker.

My concern is that the eye took a hit that makes it look like a DDO. Not sure if legit doubling or not.

Agree with that Spence. It's not a real clean coin. Guess I'd have to submit it for verification.

Your attribution is correct. This doubled eyelid is a bit different than most, in that it looks a lot more like a slightly wavey line rather than a more wide and flat oval bump. It is fairly common, at least compared to some of the doubled dies from that year.

I'd need a closer view of the '9' to see if there is a mark there. Seems to small to be a match from what I can see.
