Certainly post strike damage but could this have happened immediately after the strike? It's odd looking.

I'm trying to picture something small but heavy sliding across the chin and mouth. Definitely PMD, as you say.

Yeah halfamind it seems like machinery did it, thats why I was thinking something mint related. It is very precisely sliced and the clumped material is oddly compacted while the coin is not well circulated.

Side note- It looks like a horrendous shaving accident for Abe :)

With that dark toning, it surely happened soon after being minted.
