This may be a bit weird, and I might be a little bit lazy to figure it out myself but what I am wondering about is what late 1800's to mid 1900's US short coin sets can have all 5 denominations in it with the cent, nickel, dime, quarter, and half dollar having the same mint mark and date. I want to put together a few of these in affordable nice grades, but some years did not have all the coins to fill all 5 holes in a holder like this. An easy one to think of would be the 1955 Philadelphia coins. Which others can anyone come up with? Some can be done but one coin might be a expensive key coin.

Yeah, just lazy. You could just open the Red Book and look up each year and denomination. The problem is there are many, many of those and you would end up with having to make a decision as to which ones to use. Why not just make a collection of each type, with each Mint and each year. OOPPPS. I think that is called an album and someone may have made those already. Just kidding but I've seen many of those at coin shows. If you find a decent coin show you could probably buy as many of those as you want.

I don't want to buy any sets , maybe just have to hunt down one or two coins. I have singles that would like to team up with like year and mintmark here in a few empty holders I have. Yes I am just lazy. As punishment, I will do a study and update this post with what I find is affordable and has 5 coins to a set.

How about 1866, with a Two Cent Piece in the quarter hole (a good fit) and a Three Cent Nickel in the dime hole (also a good fit)? It won't have all denominations, but it will make a neat looking set. (Much of my collection is groupings like this in similar plastic strip coin holders.)

They make a variety of these plastic strip coin holders. Besides the 5-hole cent-to-half they make 6-hole cent-to-dollar (large and small), 5-hole quarter (works well for quarters, Two Cent Pieces, and Half Cents), and 5-hole nickel (good for nickels; CN cents 1857-64, which are the right diameter for the cent-hole in set holders, but too thick; and Spanish colonial one reals). Not to mention similar strips for Canadian sets. Some of my groupings are 'year sets' and some are 'term sets' (ex. Lincoln 1861-65, T Roosevelt 1901-09, etc).
