Man, BadThad has sure turned me on to Lincolns after seeing his beautiful coins. Here is one I just picked up at the Las Vegas show. Not sure if I want this one in my Dansco. I am going with non-error Lincolns only.
Reverse appears struck thru grease.

What happened to the upper part of the reverse? Is that a weak strike or unusual wear? I think this wouold grade AU-58.

The unevenness of the area leads me to believe it is a "struck thru grease" error. There is still detail surrounding the area not to mention the softness of details.

Yeah!.. vermontensium, I love those Lincolns too...I would agree that it looks like struck thru grease, but other than that I think it would grade.. MS-62

Nice looking older Lincoln.

Glad you're loving the Lincolns!

Nice clean coin, looks at least MS-64. Definately struck thru grease. Generally, I avoid these unless I want to fill a novelty spot. One advantage I have using a 3-ring binder versus an album, I can slip it in next to my good coin and label is appropriately.

That's what I'm going to do. Ya, I don't include these in my normal sets either.
