Hello I'm Spyro, a new member, and I'm interested in Maria Theresa Talers. I have Clara Semple's book, and have a printout of The Roeck database, and one or two other publications. I'm wondering if anyone else has ideas I might have missed for further research, and am more than happy to share what I've managed to find out. Looking forward to joining any discussions that might be going on. Have fun!

There is a member here, maybe more than one, who knows quite a bit about the Thaler. Unfortunately I don't recall their name.

Hi. I've just read Spence's reply. The website you mention is really good. I've used it on several occasions. It also lets you print it, which is nice, but be sure to print the pages landscape! When I've learned a bit more about how this forum works I shall upload a few pics from a couple of other sources which should help identify mints and striking dates, always a source of entertainment for Thaler fans! The Thaler has an amazing history and is well worth researching.

Hi Oriole. Also got a reply from Spence. Wondering if that's the member you mean.

Just wondering if anyone can help me with Thaler mintage figures since 2000. Tried Austria Mint but they said they couldn't help (weird or what?).

You can find that information in the annual reports of the Vienna Mint. Their website, unfortunately, only has the last few year's worth of reports, but the mintage figures reported for thalers given in these may give some indication: 2021: 15234 2020: 11262 2019: 10695 2018: 13545 For older copies of the reports you might need to do some more in-depth Googling, or obtain physical printed copies.

Hi Sap. Many thanks for the Vienna Mint info. I shall do some "in depth googling". Have a good Christmas!
