For me it is mint mark. Typing "mintmark" gets red squiggles.

A Mintmark is a small letter signifying where a coin was struck. A Mint Mark is a mark (scratch, ding, scrape) left on the coin by something that happened at the Mint, Or, a Mint Mark could be a mint employee named Mark.

However at the US Mint: https://www.usmint.gov/learn/collec...s/mint-marksQuote: Mint Marks Mint marks are letters that identify where a coin was made. They hold the maker responsible for the quality of a coin. When the U.S. used precious metals such as gold and silver to make circulating coins, a commission evaluated the metal compositions and quality of coins from each of the Mint facilities. The evaluations ensured that each facility produced coins to the correct specifications.

WOW...It really is hard to know which is really the "correct" one...if there is any. I'm having the debate with a fellow coin collector.
Everyone presents such awesome points, thank you.

Doesn't mean they're wrong, just means the spell-checkers aren't programmed to accept numismatic jargon. "Mintmark" is the traditionally correct form; in the rest of the English-speaking world outside of North America, I've never heard suggestion that it ought to be anything different. I agree with Dearborn's comment that "mint mark" is ambiguous as it could mean "any mark left on the coin by the mint", like even a die crack or die chip.
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis

If you get red squiggles under a word and you like the way you spelled it, just right click on it and then "add to dictionary" and the red squiggles will be gone forever.

I have added many words over the many years of posting, but for whatever reason "mintmark" was not one of them. Seems my sense of humour is lost on some. After consulting a few other sources I have decided to "Right-Click | Add to Dictionary" on that red squiggle word. End of an era! * I often right-click on the words I type to correct the spelling because I am too lazy to manually correct mistyped words.
