This was my bigger ever Christmas package gift ever in my life/ A small orange paper bag. From my wife and a big surprise for me and one of the varieties missing me. (I accept gift before Christmas due to the fact my father past away on morning 24)

Is an 1970-D FS-801 Type M, one of the most rare FS-801. Type F is relative common. Only 73 certify at this moment and it is MS64 or I hope MS-65. I didn't establish the Stage yet.

Funny it is she look on my list of missing of the quarters 1932-1999 and made the list and shop for. Mazing find here in Montreal at very good price (mystery) and told me the chipper gift made of the life and well appreciate. Funny.

Me before I past 2 bags of 1970-D of 1000 coins each and never find

That is a lot of coins to look at. You have a good eye to spot those types. Nice find.

I question this one. It looks like Machine Doubling on some of the devices. Also you are look too close, enlarging the images too much. So I created a side by side difference sets of images to see how a normal coin compares with the DDR. That might help all to see the differences. It is not on single devices you need to look at. There is an enlarging of the height/width of the devices and a reduction on the closed devices that show a doubled die. So here are the images of the side by sides:

Thanks for the extra pics. If you have it, I cannot see it though. I think there is some age to the die, that may be giving the appearance of a spread but do not see hub doubling.

Oh I understand where you go MAKE. This DDR is locate only on the Q and U of the Quarter. It is located bottom of the letters. Inside the Q upper in it is a normal doubling of the Design Variety of the RDV-007 as you know. The rest as is say it is a presentation of the VV of the Stage B and C. The rest of the coin can show spread rotation but this was a part of the RDV characteristic. If I work more with the Wexler, it is because it is more accurate then VV which many time mix the Design Varieties and the xxx varieties and go by some momentum markers.

In any case I will send to ANACS because it is an Type M and is less common but not scarce or rare. I will call Bret to ask to take a look. This DDR is not a easy one to see, almost by the photos.
