Quote: Which one do you think it is? I suspect if he had any idea he wouldn't be asking. There are literally hundreds of VAMs for 1921-P, many of them defined by die scratches or die rusting patterns that wouldn't be identifiable on a worn coin. But it doesn't look like any of the more obvious VAMs.

Do you think it's worth sending to PCGS for grade

No, the grading fees would exceed the value of the coin.

Quote: I suspect if he had any idea he wouldn't be asking. I figured that. I tell that to a lot of members because I want them to look up their find themselves so they can read up on errors and varieties and get used to seeing what a real one looks like. So whenever a member finds something they think is an error or most likely a possible variety they need to check all available reference sites first, then come here and tell us the possible attribution number so we can check and see if they made a match or not. Then we can direct them accordingly. John1

I can't see any identifiers. My guess is it's a common VAM-3 with 16 berries on reverse wreath.

The great thing about VAMs is that there are a whole lot of people who only collect them. You just have to find the right person who is looking for what you have. 21's unfortunately have the most different errors bcuz that was the year where the die was really breaking down. Which may be why they changed it all up. 21 was the last year they were made. The important thing is obviously the condition and yours looks pretty good.

Can't really see the details when I blow them up. Too shiny and blurry. But it might have the common cracking at the top of the letters around the edges. You would have to completely redo the pics put them flat on a white towel with no extra lightning and hold the camera still.
