Those are scratches on the coin.

PMD. Often times I notice that cracks will follow a path of least resistance. The cracks will traverse some lettering, on their way to the rim. These look like pure scratches.

Clearly scratches. If it has a trench like feature then that is because of pushed metal from something being pushed into the metal.
