Hi - thanks in advance for any help.

Is this a die dent on the obverse in the right field? The reverse has a raised area at about 6 o'clock too.

Does this have any numismatic value.

Thanks again

to the CCF It looks like the obverse is bulged out. If both are, then I think it was heat. If the reverse is dented in then it's damage. Either way there is no premium.

Thanks for the quick responses. The coin is not mine and the photos are second-hand, so I'm sorry but this is probably the best I can manage. The reverse is not indented at the same spot as the obverse bump.

@psu, first welcome to CCF. Second, sometimes we see these "bumps" on clad coins that have been exposed to high heat.

Die dents will look like these:

Dents into another die, from a dropped die. They will be raised, because the damage to the die is incuse.
