I've got this 1891 Liberty nickel, just wondering if this looks like some acid damage or similar to you guys? This coin doesn't hold value to me, just intrigued if anyone's seen something similar before.

Hi both, just to be sure. Are you both suggesting I put this coin in a acetone bath and see what comes of it? Never used this stuff before, will search it up first.

Yes looks like solder residue to me too. I think it is ex-jewelry too.

Could be Mercury or solder though I don't see evidence that a mount was attached
