Poll Question
9 month Westie gets a hold of my 2003 Silver set and destroys the box/ coa and the cases are very easy access now. What should I do? Coins have no damage.

Most always you can sell silver sets seperatly and make a profit. Is the plastic housing damaged? If it's just the outside packaging you can always find empty boxes online

I would suggest feeding the dog more food so that he's not tempted to eat your coins. :P

If this happened to me, I would break the set and sell them individually on e-bay. I feel you would get more money this way than as a set without the original packaging. I think there are people that are looking for specific pieces as opposed to the entire set... but of course I could be wrong.

Well ALL of the packaging is destroyed and you won't be able to find an in tact replacement holder for it. Even if you could the value of the set as a whole...would be diminished Sell them individually. I would check each coin under magnification to make sure they aren't damaged. Or sell it on ebay as a "Westie Mint Packaging Error" I'm sure you'll make big bucks on it

I have a couple of extra empty plastic cases from proof sets I broke apart for albums that I can give you if you are interested.

Ahhhh........that's why CCF is so great right there !........Now you have an offer for "empty US Mint Proof cases" ......problem solved ! Replace them back into a new case !
Assuming you're not interested in "parting out your set" and making a few bones. (But then of course you're missing that 2003 Silver Proof Set and have to buy another one.....no problem....but why not just put the coins in the new holder that you can get from jgfindring ?

Since I found no option for the obvious solution (which is breaking all of your sets apart and putting the coins in albums!) I say sell the coins individually.
