I like to hear you folks thoughts on this. I picked it up a couple months ago, it's (obviously) already in a flip. The brown spot at 7 o'clock is a bit of something on the flip. Edited by Wideglide 01/06/2023 8:23 pm

XF-details (cleaned), perhaps? Honestly, I'm not all that sure on this one, simply because I have no experience grading twenty-cent pieces.

XF details with AU color could mean cleaned for these doubledimes. Lots of sharp detail and a snazzy coin but all 4 of my XF 20 centers are battleship grey with blue and black toning. Cleaned or straight grade thats a nice example i.m.o. That baby ought to be considered for a TPG slab which would put issue to rest its a winner either way

those thighs legs chest and hands show such little wear that I change my opionion to easy AU-50 and those dull claws are from strike not wear...its an AU coin I don't see much wear except on high areas

Actually, I'd like to see more pics taken from different angles.

It does appear cleaned in these images but it could grade market acceptable for problem-free imo. AU50.

As I am in Australia finding a US 20 Cents Double Dime has been a challenge I have not been able to answer for some years. Would love to have an example in my collection.
I see a narrow range of grade opinions, and would agree with those.

IMO, XF. I don't see the "cleaned" part.

Quote: As I am in Australia finding a US 20 Cents Double Dime has been a challenge it just as difficult in the US to find one in decent shape and that would grade straight. the obverse bothers me. its either a weak strike or when you see a coin that looks like its melted it typically points to an old cleaning and polishing. I think if you take the coin out of the holder and dont use any overhead lighting would help. even a slight angle shot of the obv would help determine surface originality
