Given the single photo taken through a plastic sleeve, it appears to be subtle toning. I've seen many, many similar Lincoln memorial cents over several decades of roll searching.

There are replated cents that are gold plated or colorized out there, generally these are just sold as novelties that appeal to collectors so long as they understand they are not investment pieces and the coin loses its numismatic value such as for grading purposes. We discussed that last here http://goccf.com/t/437394&SearchTerms=goldOf course by your picture it could also be just nice toning which some collectors do pay a premium depending on what coin its on. A modern cent 2015-p needs to be graded at MS-65 condition before it starts having added value, and more like MS-67 or MS-68 before it might be worth thinking about grading for value purposes. Otherwise most of these coins are just good for albums, personal collections, and worth face value https://www.ngccoin.com/price-guide...s/cents/101/

It has toned in the holder, NICE looking toner! I differ from the others, attractive toning increases value for people like me who like them.

Who placed this coin into that plastic holder? That does not seem to be OGP. Is it a PVC holder? Your coin does have a very nice gold tone - a school science lab experiment? who knows?

Quote: Coppercoins:Some of the yellow cents are a result of zinc planchets melting in the copper bath creating brass, which is yellow in color. Subsequent planchets bathed in this mixture came out of the mint yellow. Other reasons could be a whole host of possible environmental conditions. Usually little or no premium is seen for the mint-created yellow cents, and of course no premium for the environmentally changed examples. So this appears to not be any of the aftermarket plated we see here and there but an environmentally changed example, nice looking. Typically no premium for the color although some collectors pay what they want for things they like for their personal collections. Premiums can occur from grading but grading fees of course are involved so many times its a wash or loss unless the graded value is higher.
