Last month I purchased an uncirculated roll of 1946 S LWC and found a 1946-S IMM-001. So I purchased another roll a few weeks later and found a second one. Tried pushing my luck and purchased another roll last week... well, it paid off, my third 1946-S IMM-001!.

Here are some pics:

Very cool! Can't tell, is that a VLDS example or grease filled or both?

Very interesting. Is that a grease filled as well or is that just how the MM was applied to the die?

Looks good to me.
It's nice that yours doesn't have the grease stains that seem prevalent on a lot of these.

Hmmm... Why is there what appears to be a secondary curve inside the upper loop?

The punch does look tilted on this variety.
It looks to be a VLDS and maybe even some grease filling the mm as mentioned.

The 1947s Inverted one seems tilted like this as well.

If we look to 46 and 47 we can come to the conclusion that was in fact the punch which was in trouble.

It had never occurred to me to look at the S punch "inverted", because I have so few S coins. So the S mint mark isn't symmetrical top vs. bottom?

The term inverted threw me for a moment. This mark isn't just 180 degrees rotated, which would make the curves backwards. It's almost like when they made the punch, someone welded the S onto the rod with a 180 degree rotation around both the Y and Z axis. So that the bottom was on the top, but also the curves were facing the right way.
