1763 French 1/2 Ecu Coin

This is pretty well worn coin which I think is a 1/2 ECU. Problem is the weight doesn't match - it weighs 24 gr, 41 mm in diameter. The books says more like 29 grams, 41 mm in diameter. It's got a yellow hue to it. Could it be another denomination? Or a fake?

Do you mean an Ecu, not half Ecu? Either way, it should be silver.

@cad, thx for including a pic of the edge. I see that this section has no lettering. Is it safe to say that this is true around the entire edge?

1/2 ECU. And the edge photo is pretty representative of the coin.

The overall weakness of the devices, coupled with the pitting and non-silver appearance suggest that this is a cast counterfeit.
