Yes. I am specifically looking for a 2022(S) ASE NGC MS70, which it seems that no one has them, at least that I have found. I have seen 2022 ASE NGC MS70, but I want the (S) on the label, if they exist.
IMO, This is where the Minted at the West Point Mint terminology is Showing signs of Confusion, . There are West Point Minted Coins that bear the W mint mark, There are also Coins that do NOT bear the Mint Marks and they are " minted " at the mints too,They are called Bullion. The San Francisco Mint did NOT make a 2022 S UNC coin Period... ( I wish they made an Unc S mint Marked coin, ) I believe this S Unc Coin is referring to the no mint mark S minted bullion coins....I could be wrong...... Thanks for Sharing
If I am allowed to be a little bit cynical, it appears that when 2022 proofs sold for more than $70, there was nowhere enough profit margin in business strikes to be bothered with them.
Makes 2022 a sad year for those who have more interest in business strike ASE's as bullion, than in Proof ASE's as collector items. The reason why I am interested in business strikes only: It is my experience that specialist bullion dealers (in Australia), will not offer to pay the premium on a buy-back of proof ASE's and regard them strictly as bullion coins. I am always referred to coin dealers, if I wish to sell proof ASE's.
But.. no S uncirculated exists with the mintmark on the coin. The (w)(s) line is for the bullion uncirculated product but there is no mintmark on them. It lists the burnished unclirculated W separate.
The United States Mint doesn't issue bullion Silver Eagles with a mint mark—meaning collectors have no idea where their coins were struck! However, a recent discovery confirmed by the Department of the Treasury has allowed the Numismatic Guaranty Company (NGC) to certify 2023-dated Silver Eagles with labels identifying them as being struck at the West Point Mint fyi but these are just 'verified' and graded bullion shown to be produced at west point - still without a mint mark on the coin so its just a label difference plus the grade. https://www.govmint.com/catalogsear...ilver+eagles

NGC also did this to 2022 bullion ASE's as well - Which is why they put the 'W' in between the round brackets "()" such as 2022 (W)
Ok, so the Red Book is not in error exactly. The (w)(s) line in the Red Book is for the bullion uncirculated product as to where its potentially minted at but there is no mintmark on those bullion uncirculated coins so to answer your question you wont find an S one in a graded label for 2022. It lists the burnished unclirculated W separately in the Red Book as mentioned. The burnished W uncirculated does have the mintmark W on the reverse on the actual coin by the way.
However as mentioned by Dearborn and me, there are some uncirculated out there with (W) for 2022 and 2023 on the label but not the coin. I dont see any (S) versions. .As homogenous coins, these coins don't bear the tell-tale mint mark but boxes containing these coins are indicated by labeling and handwritten markings. According to Mint officials, their goal is to "ensure that the American Eagle Silver Bullion Coins struck at any of its facilities are identical and indistinguishable from one another."
Interestingly I just found that some 2020 American Eagle silver bullion coins were minted at the Philadelphia Mint instead—240,000 of them, to be exact caused from a temporary need to pause operations at the West Point and San Francisco Mints. So there should have been a (P) in the Red Book for 2020 alongside the (W)(S) but again there is no mintmarks on those. And I wonder if there are label/markings for (S) and (P) on the monster boxes since we only see (W) identifiers so far for 2022+2023 - something to ask dealers. If so, perhaps if you had a san francisco monster box with 2022 BU with markings that indicated it was from the san francisco mint.you or a dealer could have one made :) And maybe a 2020 if somehow it shows it came from philadelphia unless there is something different about the west point verification labels for 2022 and 2023. I'd be more inclined for that one due to its rarity if it were identified as minted there somehow and graded/authenticated. Ah too much thinking lol. *edit* looks like they already did release labeled versions of some others.
I am anal and I collect them all! I have the 2020 (P), (S) and (W) ASE Bullion/Uncirculated on the NGC Labels. no mint mark of course, but NGC knew where the monster boxes were minted and put it on the label appropriately. I also have the 2021 (P), (S) and (W) ASE Bullion/Uncirculated, also on the NGC Labels. For 2022 however, I was only able to find the (W), yet the Red Book shows that there should be (S) and (W) mints. But, as "datadragon" mentioned, it doesn't mean the NGC put the San Francisco Mint designation on the label. Thank you everyone for your assistance with this.
Cool, yes you should have found a 2022 W burnished uncirculated and now the w bullion uncirculated on the label only (and these are actually different coins in other ways in addition to the burnished having the mint mark) but keep an eye out for/ask the dealers about a S bullion uncirculated now that you have apparently verified prior years they were able to id the other bullion mint versions besides W - but its not out there available at this time as you asked. If time permits uploading images of them around 600x600 resolution ish might help others who read this thread in the future.
Heres the 2022 w burnished if you only have the label only bullion W:
