Normally would not consider a Memorial however I have some PCGS coupons. This specimen is flawless although not a real crisp strike.

Would appreciate grade thoughts.

Also, trying to dial in my axial lighting setup. Not quite there yet as right side a bit dark. Coin is spotless, that is not green growth above date.

Thanks much.

My opinion is the coin is no better than 66 and that's on a good day in Graderville! The nicks and ticks really will end up pulling the grade down at crunch time.

I personally would not waste money, or a grading certificate on a coin like this.

Others may have a different opinion. That's what we are here for. Good luck with what YOU decide!

Too much flashback to evaluate accurately.

You need to keep working on that setup, the picture is very grainy and pixelated. Your goal should be to reproduce what you see in hand.

Looks to be at least MS-64, I can't say anymore than that with the pictures.

the photos are sharp enough and large enough just too much glare. do not use overhead lighting or any flash. it impossible to see the real color. the ticks at the bottom of the steps are typical and many 66 graded coins exhibit this however they would not grade higher than that. weakness in steps are also typical but again would hold from a higher grade

its very difficult to get a grade above 66 on a Memorial cent
sales of PCGS graded MS66 coins are about $15-$25 for NGC about $9
at 66+ maybe $40 range and at 67 about $200

without better photos i'd call it MS65+RD the discoloration to the right of the memorial will also hold this one back. PCGS wants clean unblemished fields to make 67

Finding the right configuration for taking pics is proving a work in progress. Working an axial setup so it is only parellel bouncing of a 45 degree mirror - still getting the glare tho. Might try a piece of glass with black background next. For what it is worth, think I'm getting closer - here is the same coin. Still have some glare but getting the color to be more accurate.

Personally I don't like axial lighting, it completely kills the cartwheel spokes in images making luster impossible to read. Direct light is greatly preferred to bring out the luster and color. I use a very simple setup. Also, a white background is preferred so we can gauge your white balance level.

based on your new photos

obv looks pretty clean of marks. typically you will see shoulder and lapel with some marks. the obv strike is a little weak. the only thing I can see on the reverse is what looks like a scratch on the left side of the steps and small one in the middle. all the photos are pointing to an RB color. if thats the case there is no reason to slab this coin. the dark coloration in the fields on the reverse from K2-K6 will also also preclude it from a higher grade.

because of the weak strike, minor scratches and field issues on the reverse I cant see this one coming in any higher than what I initially graded the coin. MS65 maybe a + and color looks RB. put it in an air tight and call it a day its not worth wasting a coupon on.

take a look at some of grospoisson posts he has been looking for MS67 memorials for a long time and has spent a lot of $$ in his attempts. PCGS is tough on them and very stingy handing that grade out

MS-64RD. A few too many marks on the reverse.
