Im a new member and came across in 1979 Lincoln Cent with possible damage or mint error I'm not sure so if I could please get some help on this and appreciate it

Not an error, just badly damaged and corroded.

@kit, first welcome to CCF. Second, I'm glad that you were able to post a picture of your cent. I agree with the frog though that this looks like damage rather than a mint error.

It looks like a parking lot coin that was found in the 80s and then kept circulating until now.

I agree, you have found yourself a Parking lot coin,severely damaged or it could have gotten ran over by a Rain deer

Damaged coin. How much damage to affect a coins value? See the incuse marks on this coin. Just one of them that are damage, ruins the value for this coin. So just a spender. (unless you are saving copper coins)
