Hi- First time poster and newbie to the world of coins. Recently been learning a bit more and was sorting through a large collection of coins. I found a 1969 Dime with no mint mark and what appears to be a strike through error to my untrained eye. Is that so? There's a giant line through his head and it doesn't appear to have been made after (perfect lines and smooth). Is this an error? Any value to this?

The first of the 2 new ones is much better, thanks. The circular marks are most likely caused by a coin rolling machine or from another coin being pressed on it. The straight mark 'could' be a strike through, but better images are still needed. At this point you don't need to provide a full coin image, just concentrate on the mark you are interested in.

Thanks - those images are way WAY better. So, this is not a strike through, but rather something was pressed into this coin (just like the arcs you see) How do I know that, you may ask? Well at the edges of the depression you can see metal rising up right at the edge. If it were a strike through the die would prevent any displacement of the metal. But oddly enough, I'm not seeing any bulging out on the reverse just opposite the dent.
I say that it is post mint damage for now, as Merclover states.

Thanks for the feedback. I see what you both are saying when I look at it zoomed in. Any tips on confirming it?

Confirming it? Well we can wait for a few more of our more seasoned troubleshooters to have a look at it. You can also take it to your LCS (Local Coin Store).

I agree with everyone above that is PSD. (Post Strike Damage)

The design on the reverse is showing flattening on these opposite side higher devices. Just a damaged coin.
