Recently acquired a few of these uncirculated Peace dollars. Are they worth sending to be graded? Kind of new to collecting. Thank you!

@wend, can you please post a pic of the reverse too? You might have tried to do this but used the same file name for both pictures. You'll need to use unique file names for each new picture.

Reverse pic too dark to see surface details clearly.

OP's obv pics do not display radial mint luster.
Lack of luster suggests light cleaning with metal polish.

"Is it worth grading?" is a perennial question. Do you have reasons other than value, like sentimental / conservation / preservation / variety confirmation / authenticity / etc? Is the goal to sell them? From what I see a regular ol' 1922 needs to be MS65 in order to exceed $100 value, but there are a bunch of "top 50" varieties that might cross that threshold in the AU grades. It is the most common Peace dollar.

ANACS has a January special, 10 US coins for $129 (plus shipping, $500 max value) so if you have 10 or more it would be an inexpensive way to go.

too much glare in the obv photos. do not use overhead lighting plus you have a shadow from the camera. the reverse photo is pretty much worthless to grade from. out of focus and too dark.

if you cant get better photos then i'll go with what I see.
the lighting probably is making the coin look like its polished which it probably is not. there appears to quite a few scratches/marks on the face and field in front of it. looks like a long scratch above the eagle and some hits across the feathers

at best imo MS63 and thats if it grades straight. the coin is probably in the $60 range if it did grade straight. personally I would not spend anything to slab this coin whether for value or conservation. its not worth it. you'll chew up most of its value
