Latest cherry-pick and will be off to PCGS at some point soon. I think a VF-35 is quite fitting for this coin although an EF-40 would not surprise me. Can't see this any lower than a 30, what do you all think?

This variety always comes weakly struck so grading can sometimes be difficult, especially with getting a good grade from a TPG.

Thank you!

Agree with your analysis - I could see a grader shooting low on this pretty easily.

Nice little cherrypick! 7 over 8 easy to see, I think at least a VF30, I worry it could get a details call for very light corrosion or surface issues.

i think this one comes down to how they look at the weak strike on both sides. the date, wings and body look VF35.

I agree with at least VF-30. All the markers are there, the broken wing, the die chip above the 8 and 5 and the visible details of the 7 beneath the 8. A superb cherrypick! Congrats!

That is a very nice example. Congratulations on your find.

I have been hoping to find one of these for ages here in EU, but no luck so far.

Thanks all! Can't see this being a details coin but with PCGS I'm not counting anything out. Thanks for all opinions! Should have this submitted by February and of course I'll update whenever I have it back.

What do you think about sending it off to Rick Snow and having him submit it?
For some reason I always think that the heavy hitters get a little bit more attention...even though the graders don't know who is submitting this coin ; )~

Thanks again all!

Smat, I did consider that option but I'm actually likely going to be dropping by it by the PCGS office in person since I live in the area. Someday may get it eagle eye photo sealed too, but for now just a slab. Hopefully I'll pull a good grade/attribution either way!

Thanks!
