I saw this Standing Liberty from one seller. If I buy it, does anyone know how to find out the date on silver?

Quote: Here is a link on restoring silver dates: http://goccf.com/t/335621This thread is on restoring junk silver coin dates: http://goccf.com/t/264539 Thank you. I missed the opportunity to buy this coin, but I didn't try hard either. But I will need this information if I ever decide to restore the date on such coins. Perhaps a Vinegar soak? I only used it once and it did help a little. I rinsed it off quickly afterwards and touched it dry, no rubbing! Just a thought.

Here is another coin, the seller claims that it is the 30s. Can this be confirmed ?

The coin is a pedestal date from 1917 to 1924. The coin you posted is not worth trying to restore the date because of the scratches. You can find the most common Standing Liberty quarters with full recessed dates from 1925 to 1930 around melt pricing in the lower grades.

Even if it was a 23 s, it would still be cull because it would be restored. Little to no premium.
