Good Afternoon CC. I was working on a Bicentennial collection and found this in a bank roll awhile back. There are multiple errors on the coin, I just don't know if it's PMD. The Quarter is in really good condition. I've done research on how or where this damage could've happened. There is an irregular clip which I'll show in the picture. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

When you see the coin from the side you will see the rounded deformation. This it is impossible to happened in the strike chamber. Then the rounded hole it is really flat, if was from roll must has the crystalline form of the alloy.

Post-strike damage, yes. The coin didn't leave the striking chamber in that condition. The coin took a sharp end-on rim hit at one point in circulation--likely of blunt force nature.

I rechecked and tripled check. That hole is deceiving. It's not a hole. There's a chip where the reeds should. I'm trying to get a better picture. picture

Thanks again. I'll keep practicing. I appreciate the help. There is another issue I noticed with the coin. Do I start a new thread?

I agree with PMD. If you have new photos post them here, do not start a new thread on the same coin, Thanks.

If this coin gets any taller, it will have to ride in the back of the truck!

to pile on here - This is a damaged coin, it took a sideways hit indenting the edge of the coin. That is why it is thicker where the dent is.
