Could not reply to request for photos, so here are photos of early stage 1995 DD.

*** Edited by Staff to Add Year / Mintmark / Denomination to Title. It's very important to have in the title. ***

Also have a nice 1972 verified via Vista.

@jfe, with no chip on the first column in the memorial, I think you are right about this being Stage A. Here is the vv link for folks to compare and judge for themselves:

Well, no exposed zinc on at least this coin should give you a fighting chance. With that said, sealing cents in something airtight with desiccant should delay the inevitable for cents with some zinc core exposed, especially if you live in an area with high humidity.

So, what does an image of a 1995 DD have to do with another topic talking about a 1982 zinc coin and preservation?

@dear, see this previous thread:

We asked @jfe for representative photos to help answer a question about storage and they have done that.

The later die states show the breakdown of the dies a lot more:

Seeing these side by side, shows even how much more detail is seen on the MDS as compared with the LDS where the design looks so much weaker.

CoopHome: Die wear, does it really affect the looks of coins? Is having an earlier die state more beneficial? knowing the difference will land you are nicer looking coin. I feel sometime in the future, the buying of die states will be important. so train your eyes to find a better die state on your purchases.

Thanks again for your comments. I'm kind of excited about finally having a doubled die and want to make sure it doesn't turn into zinc dust. Here are some photos showing that there are die chips on column 1 and 2 as well as a small die crack north of ear. Great references Coop and Spence... Slowly, but surely I'm' starting to get the hang of using the various site to either confirm or reject. my conclusions on evaluating a coin.
