Looks like the coin was sanded down on the obverse. How can I tell? Not the height of the rims. A lowered rim area tells the coin was was altered post strike. Sometimes grease can fill some devices, but this will leave the left over devices wider not smaller on the tops of the devices. If the coin was altered, then it would be less than 5 grams.

Sorry but not rare at all, just a coop said, a sanded down nickel that is now damaged and worth 5 cents.

What do you see to believe this is a rare coin? I see a damaged nickel.
