Hi all
would this be a printing error or just some metal that got added somehow or other.

Aside from a stain spot, I'm not seeing a 'dot' below the date--given the images posted. Perhaps a closer-in, sharp pic of the date and the feature in question would help. Always possible to have a plating bubble in there somewhere.

Coins are not printed, they are struck or minted. Currency is printed.
That looks like a small plating bubble beneath the date, not uncommon on zincoins

Look very closely to the are on the field below the '2'? See if there is a very small gray color on the center of that raised area? That would be a clue for a piercing of the plating. But the damage on the reverse pretty much cancels the value of this coin. What was the point of looking for the piercing? To see if the plating was split or if something was plated over on this coin before it was struck. If the raised area is not pierced, then try a toothpick to press downwards. If it gives it is a air bubble under the plating. If firm, then it was something plated over under the plating on the planchet. So knowing this information will help with your future searches. Know these things will help speed up your searching. (but the exposed zinc on the reverse is a death sentence for this coin)
