I still have my P&D BU rolls. A few months ago the P rolls were selling for over $200! I almost sold and probably should have. I just can not bring myself to break the rolls.

A lot of the '09 coinage was made for and released in Puerto Rico. I believe this applies especially to Philly dimes and nickels. No doubt a lot of it is still circulating there.

It's difficult to say how many coins were saved out in BU because there is very little collector demand for most moderns. If few coins are being sold to collectors then the market, if it exists at all, is largely speculative. I would guess some of these coins might be legitimately uncommon in BU condition. Many of the modern nickels are probably much less common but without much demand we can't use price as a good indicator of scarcity. Obviously the '82 and '83 issues are uncommon but other dates are going to prove to be tough as well.
Time don't fly, it bounds and leaps.

I just got done going through this box and I only found one. The one I posted earlier. This box had a few War Nickels and the last two boxes had nothing worth keeping.

I found one in my last bank nickel box. I thought I got skunked by that box, but are these 2009's worth money now? The only reason why I kept/looked for it is so that I could give it to my 4-year-old daughter, so that she could start a coin collection, too. I went through the whole box again just for that, LOL!

2009 P - AU has a $.03 premium and MS60 has $1.00 premium based on numismedia's FMV.

I haven't looked at ebay lately but XF-AU rolls were selling for way too much money recently.

I haven't hunted nickels in probably three months, but before that I was averaging 5-10 '09s per box. Only started keeping them because of the click bait videos and knew that there would be some demand due to that. I sold a couple of rolls on ebay for about $8 each. Still have a couple of rolls, waiting to see if demand goes up.

Works for me... that's the kind of side hustle you can do while watching the idjit box, with just about enough attention available to give both what they deserve.
