Somewhat of a triple error here. The coin has a tilted partial collar, is nicely broadstruck, and on a pretty big straight clip. Fairly high-grade example with a lot of shine to it.

Looks to be obviously genuine, to my eye.
I suspect that this coin may be a deliberate mint sport.

A coin dealer friend of mine bought about 100 very obvious gross single error US coins back from the Long Beach coin show about 20 years ago, to be sold through his business in Sydney. Several hundred single error coins were available from the US dealer he bought them from at the show.
They were all of the same vintage as the coin pictured.

That is a high grade @TB. What are you thinking it would grade as?

Thanks folks! Yeah, it's a real error and likely not from mint sport but just something that happens now and again. As for grade, well maybe we shall see. I have two error coins I'd like to get slabbed but really expensive with all the fees and shipping to just do up two coins so considering what else I could add. This one seems like a good candidate. I have it at MS65 but just so hard to know how an error coin will be graded. PCGS seems to ignore the stuff associated with the error, like massive split plating on some Lincolns, while ANACS seems to grade most error coins rather low even if the coin appears to be high grade MS. So hopeful PCGS would put a pretty good grade on it, which would make the submission worthwhile.

It also shows a cutting burr on the obverse. That's pretty common with straight clips.

Thanks folks! And a cutting burr... Mike introduces me to yet another term. I've seen those on a number of coins and should have guessed they had a name. Now I know!
