1975 D Lincoln Cent Die Crack Reverse

2foxy Valued Member United States 150 Posts	Posted 02/05/2023 8:57 pm I found this 1975 D Lincoln Cent with what appears to be a die crack running through the pillars on the reverse. The crack does not affect the pillars themselves, only the space inbetween, is this typical?. The penny is fairly scratched up so it was hard to spot. It looks like the crack goes all the way up through the roof. Thoughts? Thanks in advance :) Report this Post to the Staff

Notice how you only see it on the fields or low spots on the coin - which are on the high points on the die. I do, however think I see 2 die cracks on the reverse at the top corners of the memorial (both East and West sides) Collecting since 1972. Learning from then on "Tell me and I forget. It seems the one on the right corner is connected to the one going through the pillars. It curves around and goes through the "E" and into the "M" I tried to catch a clear photo of it but my hands shake so bad plus my phone is not so great. Report this Post to the Staff

merclover Bedrock of the Community United States 10635 Posts	Posted 02/06/2023 02:57 am Besides the cracks Dearborn spotted, this cent has only scratches and circulation wear and tear. The cracks spotted are in common known die weak spots and don't really bring any sort of premium I'm afraid. Keep searching! Report this Post to the Staff
