So I am newly interested in coins and collecting. I am sorry ahead of time if this is stupid but I have a penny that I wanted some feedback on.
1) is the date and mint mark thicker than normal?
2) reverse - E in the word UNITED.
What are your thoughts and is it worth anything?

Nice photos of your CENT
Nothing unusual about your cent, the date looks normal and that is
just damage on the reverse.
As there were over 563 million 1955D cents produced, there would not be too much value in a worn wheatie but still worth keeping

The thickness of the mint mark and devices (letters and numbers) look typical for this cent. Some circulation flattening may have contributed to their 'look'. The E in UNITED (reverse) looks like it took a circulation hit.

The coin may have been cleaned in the past. Value would run between 3-10 cents. Some coin dealers might put this one in a '25 cents each' wheat bin.

On your third image, below Pluribus: That is a finger print. These are permanent. So save this coin in your Wheat cent pile now.

I agree totally with JimmyD, normal looking cent. Wholesale value of Wheaties is about 3 cents each. Keep searching!
