Funny how you state that the error is on the reverse, but you post up a very nice and large image of the obverse, then follow up with a tiny image of the reverse (the side you have questions about) Yes, you posted a close up of your reverse, but a good image of the reverse is ju7st as important to help trouble shoot a coin.

Yes, if that 'patch' looking feature is below the surrounding surface (therefore sunken/incuse) then I'm thinking strike-through. Possibly a gritty grease strike through.
