Found this in pocket change. Would think it's a one of a kind coin. I need help with identifying issues on the left side of the obverse. Are those feeder finger lines? Never had a coin with some The B in liberty is missing its center, there is just a thin fine line of metal on the outer curves. What could cause this? On the reverse the bottom right of the last A in America Is missing. Is it also a weak die or Mechanical Doubling? Thanx in advance for any help with this coin Would this coin have some value?

The grey colour is exposed zinc. Next stop zinc rot which has already set in.

Well I couldn't tell from the earlier replies of. "It's just zinc rot" Are they feeder finger marks as I previously asked. Am trying to learn things but only get a zinc rot answer

Wouldn't a better reply be something like. Yes that is a mint mark in the zinc rot hole. I have seen hundreds like it or that's the first one I ever saw, however the coin has zinc rot which makes it a spender. Yes they are feeder finger lines or no they aren't. Where do you see them VI? Remember we are all not experts. One can only learn by asking questions, which hopefully will be answered but not by " it's zinc rot" as the only reply. Kinda disappointed by the replies I received

my bad on the finger feeder lines.. I am confusing them with something else I saw about an error. My brain is a little on overload I guess from trying to learn the gazillion things about coins and confusing things in my mind. I have jotted down little notes, but when I refer to them, some I can't figure out. lol. sorry. I should just refer to my books I guess instead of notes

the Diagonal lines you see on both sides are called 'roller lines' not Feeder Finger Damage and they are made when the zinc plate is rolled out flat before the blanks are punched out. As for the Mint mark - it looks to me that the zinc core has rotted out (this IS a very common location for it to occur) and the copper plating on top sank into the hole.

thank you Dearborn. I appreciate you takin the time to explain some things. Was very helpful. I think I will hang on to this one until the zinc rot eats it up. I am amazed at the mint mark being in the hole. thanx again
