The price was put here I do not understand?!!!? PCGS has no one certify as high MM as error, NGC some, ANACS I do not check. But this price must be the new wave of extraordinary errors. LOL.

On this coin I do not see error. An hand misplaced MM, part of the production and a Cud which show a VLDS damage. We go crazy on the collecting. So guys jump for a coin of VLDS at the best 55 for One Ground, your life deal LOL.

PCGS has access to many years of ebay historical data that we don't, I'm sure the $750 sale is legit. It was sold in 2019. Here's one from Heritage...

The price has obviously come down as more have surfaced, At one time there were dealers offering $500 for them. They appear to be selling just fine raw though.

Two ebay sales...

The misplaced MM on the 1975 D Nickel has been a known secret for quite some time and the high value is not dependent on the existence of the Cud.

Here's an article from Coin World in 2015 that details an offer made in 2012 to pay $500 for the first one sent to the author, and he notes that no one ever took him up on it.

The second article is more recent and appears to confirm that a few more have been found and graded. The author makes an interesting suggestion, namely that the die break that caused the Cud may have shortened the production run thus resulting in an unusually low production amount and the resulting rarity of the misplaced D variety.
