I have found a 1996 with a DDR. I have been unable to pin in down exactly as I seem to have a little of a couple different DDR's. Here is my research. I have some markers from DDR-007 7-R-VIII. It has the die cracks at the tops of columns 4 and 5 as can be seen in the one picture. I also have the upper half of the light hubbing west of the extra column 7 found running down the center of Lincoln. 007 does not contain the spread west of column 7 that is found in this coin. The length of my west spread on column 7 matches the length given in DDR-017 17-R-VIII (from elbow to knee) but this coin does not have the double knees that are also found in 017. So I am looking for confirmation that this is an official DDR as it would be the first one I ever found. What would be the thoughts on which DDR this is.

A sharp closeup is needed. Sharp. Not seeing it in the area you have circled.

I was going through my 1996 pennys when the cats interrupted me by playing hockey with a coin on the floor. I took it from them and decided to look at it quickly before going back to my 1996 group. It was this 2006 penny!!! So I will label it "the cats hockey puck" lol

They are just short little ones only at the top of the columns. Running from roughly from 1:30 to 7:30 There are 2 on column 4 and 1 on column 5 I haven't mastered getting clarity on super close up pics yet. Have tried any trick I can think of. I have some with clarity but they are all over 300kb. When I crop them to 300 I lose my clarity Still trying to find a solution to this issue

While this looks like a nice DDR, I don't think it matches what Makecents posted. The statue's knees are completely different, and the doubling by the column is slightly different. I may have to go look to see if there is a match out there.

Thanx -makescents- I looked on variety vista for what I found. The only ones I see on Wexler that match the size and location of my spread have the strong doubled knees which mine doesn't have. Should I be taking the top half of the column running through Lincoln in to consideration as well during my search? I will look at cc's site later and let you know if I find anything. Hopefully I didn't overlook anything on Wexler site, but don't think I did. Thanx again

Dearborn, the pics I had to work with, were not very sharp, glare and out of focus. I found what looked like the best matches, with the pic I had to work with and asked the OP to check the markers. That's about all I could do....

I was unable to find anything else on it. Did you have any luck Dearborn? Maybe there are more sites to check that I am not aware of. Thanx again for your help

I am very new at this. Does anything happen if you find a variety that isn't listed? What should I label this on my 2x2?

If I were you, I would put it in a 2x2 and just label it unknown or unlisted DDR. I have found so many of this type of DDR, I just put them in rolls and send to an attributer that studies them. I don't even bother looking them up anymore. You are new to this, so save them and look them up, it's a good learning process, it will help hone your skills.

I do not understand this Topic. Is 1996 or 2006? To analyze I want the year. 1996 was the old presses and 2006 the new ones. Apple and Orange here.
