coppercoins Pillar of the Community United States 7629 Posts	Posted 03/09/2009 12:41 pm Well, I don't see a picture at all, but from the short description I would guess it's a cent from 1982-1988 and it has little warts. It's impurifications on the zinc blank prior to copper plating and since has corroded underneath the copper. No premium value. If my guess is wrong, it just proves I can't read minds. From what you say, I would guess the date to be 1986. that seemed to be a bad year, for some reason. BTW, welcome to the forum! They apply only to the copper plated zinc cents. I would say yours is probably environmentally damaged, but would have to see an image to know what's going on for sure. Report this Post to the Staff
