The copper alloy, being rather soft, suffered a hard hit on the T sometime in its 88-year history. Just circulation damage, unfortunately.

Reminds me of a parking lot coin. When sand is pressed onto a coin, it will leave that type of mark on a coin. If it were legit, then where are the other million of those dies. It is just coin damage. The location is determined before the die was punched. (You can't put your new lawn ornament in your neighbors yard?) So if it were a mintmark, There is a correct location for these on each denomination. So an altered coin is not what your eyes tell you what it is. (The brain tries to convince us of that) But reality is what determines what is true.
