I realize there's nothing special about this coin with 44m minted. Just looking at PCGS photo grade, I'd call this MS64 maybe 65. The fields are quite clean, nice luster, cheeks have slight contact marks, breast feathers maybe a little weak. Thoughts?

Unc details graffiti under liberty's jawline in the field

There is slight wear in Liberty's hair curls on the obverse, as well as the breast and leg feathers on the eagle. Also, it doesn't appear to have the "frostiness" of an MS 64-65 coin. Coinfrog's AU 55 seems to be an accurate assessment.
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

I don't see a trace of wear. Some weakness in liberty's hair especially at center of the coin. Beautiful fields. Shame that someone chose to scratch something in the obverse.
Lots of wear wouldn't merit an au55 grade. An au55 coin has very slight wear.

I'm going for AU also. There are rubs on the cap and eagle breast feathers. The picture is also very flat which limits the details so it may have luster.
I would say AU55 but it may details. Although better pictures may change my mind, the scratch under the chin and hits on the cheeks make me think it would get a details grade.

While the mark under the chin looks like graffiti in the picture looking at it under 14x and at all angles it's what I'd call a scuff mark, no tooling type scratching or marking despite how it shows in the picture. I'm going to take a closer look at it tomorrow compared to PCGS photo grade to see what I'm missing.

i agree with all the AU55 comments not sure about the mark under the chin whether its a natural scratch or PMD. you typically dont see 90 degree angles on a scratch so it may details

AU55 sharpness but I would net it down to 53
A little wear is evident on the breast, forelock and lower hair curls
Luster does not cartwheel, photos/lighting issue maybe?
