I have a fake two headed quarter. A 1991 and 1986. Can easily see the cut on the 86 side. This quarter weighs 5.69g. How do they do this and get the weight spot on?

You can see the rim area where it was altered. Same on your coin. This is actually the loser coin. Why? Because most coin flips are called heads. So a two Tailed coin would be a winner more often.

Thanx coop. You are the man. You have the correct answer to every coin issue on here. May I ask. Did you work at the mint at some point? Is this correct? They cut it out of the 86 coin. Sand that till they get the weight correct and glue it in to the grinded out 91 coin

Magicians Coins don't show up that often but I think enough were made throughout the years.
I have (1) half a Magicians coin that's all I have ever found in the wild.

I wouldn't rule out that they just accidentally landed on the correct mass. I doubt anyone would bother to get the weight precisely correct. After all, a Magician's coin won't stand up to even casual scrutiny, you don't need a precise scale to know something is rotten in the state of Denmark.

Magicians coins aren't designed to be fed into vending machines or coin counters - they fool the eye, not the machine - so they usually won't be correct weight. There's always an air gap in between the two halves of the coin, so unless there's extra thickness, the weight will almost always be lighter.

As for the thread-bumper's question: multiple people have been making these, for decades. The dates are going to be random.
