Missing L could be a Grease Filled Die in that area. on the E - looks like circulation damage. And just for kicks, I'll go on record that the scrape on the forehead was caused by a coin rolling machine.

The L looks like a minor Grease Filled Die issue, no added value. The E on the reverse is a known weak area on the coin so it is not uncommon. There might be a light grease issue on the reverse as well.

This could have been polished off of the die. Note the other devices on Liberty?
