Hello, thank you in advance for any and all of your help. I acquired this dime as part of change back from a vending machine. I was pulling money together to purchase a lottery ticket (I know wishful thinking :p) and while gathering the change, I noticed the back of this dime first. I didn't know what it was. I thought it might have been like a small battery or something that got mixed up in my pocket change but I flipped it and sure enough it was a dime. I'm not a coin collector professional, I collect silver troy ounces here and there because I would like the way they look but that's it. If I can humbly ask you more experienced folks for insight into this coin. I've seen and heard about Dryer Coins while trying to do some research before posting on here, but based off of the evidence on all Dryer Coin pictures that I have seen to this point , I Don't think that it is dryer damage nor sanded or anything like that, the surface is smooth minus superficial chips here and there anyway, sorry I'm rambling but please take a look and let me know your thoughts! Thank you so much! Also PS the dime is dated at 2006.

Looks like some kind of intentional damage, not an error. Also, please properly crop your photos before posting them. We only need to see the coin none of the background.

Thank you, John1! My apologies in the future I will recrop photos, I don't have a high quality camera on my phone, and if you zoom, you'll see these weird waves that's not on the actual dime itself, it's from my phone's quality. I can't explain it, but it looks different in person which I know is counterproductive to attach images like that, just as like a quick example On one of the pictures it looks like the lip of the dime is elevated. Looking at it in person it is completely flat on the inside except for the middle torch, I tried to take a picture of it on from the different side angles because it looks like there's almost an internal circle of a dime within the dime, maybe I'm explaining it wrong, but these probably weren't the best pictures to post, thank you for your prompt response!

I'm seeing post-strike damage--likely of a mechanical, nature.

to the CCF

It is only an error if it happens during the striking of the coin
and there is no way for that to happen then.
Just a damaged coin, probably deliberate.

Chalk this one up to interesting damage. But it is damaged and not a mint error.

yep just damaged - but please try to crop your images better - right up to the edge of the coin if possible.

to the CCF and probably sanded down. We see a lot of these coins here. I think 1 out of every 10 questions are about these coins. Or maybe it just seems like it.
