I know this penny probably isn't valuable - worth 1 cent, but it's one of the prettiest ones that I have found in my penny rolls. I noticed the back is different, something I haven't seen before. I could probably google it - but I rather get professional input. :)
This was a special year for Lincoln cents. It was celebrating the Bicentennial of Lincoln's birth and there were four different reverse designs depicting various phases of his life. This one is called "Formative Years". I like to keep these, but you are right. In circulated condition, they are worth about a penny.
Bobby, thank you so much. I don't appear to have email messages here in the forum, probably because I am new. I did reply to the email sent from the forum on your behalf. :)
Yep, these Lincoln cents celebrate the 200th birthday of the President 1809 (and the 100th anniversary of the first issue of the Lincoln Cent - 1909-2009)
