If it were a die issue, you would probably see more than one example in the roll. If just one, it maybe a strange damaged mark on the coin. How to test out my theory? Check on this coin for an outstanding die marker. Then look at other coins in the roll. If one of them (or more in that roll) have that marker and didn't have that altered device, then it would be coin damage to that one coin. I you see more than one others that look like that with the same marker, then it is a die issue.

Coop, I have several coins from this Die, in the roll. There are two very distinct markers it leaves on the coins. This is the only coin that I have that looks like this. the rest are normal punches.
