Quebec 400 year Anniversary in 2008. Here's a link to a picture cuz I'm too lazy to upload one. http://www.qctonline.com/files/imag...s/Toonie-picI haven't seen any in circulation yet either. I bought a few on ebay when they were first released. From the same seller so with combined shipping paid about 3 and a quarter each. meh... glad I did.

Yea good point, I have never seen one in circulation, tho I did go to a Caise Populaire branch here in Ontario and bought a couple during their 1st week of release. We spent 3 weeks in Montreal and Quebec City this past summer for the 400th celebrations, and I didn't see any either in normal circulation there either. I wonder where they all are?

This makes me wonder if all the new 2009 Loonies celebrating the 100th of the Montreal Canadians will be hard to find as well

I've saved ten of them that were in really good shape when they first came out. We get one or two per week at work but they're now scratched and not worth hanging onto.

I had two in my hand and used them to buy a coffee thinking that I'd come across more in better condition, haven't seen one since. Lesson learned.
They messed up my coffee order too.

Oh, and as for the Montreal Canadians coins, I'll be keeping any that come my way until I'm sure I have all I need. Any word on the release date?

Nope. I got an email from the mint today informing me that they will only be released in Quebec at the metro Stores, (formally Dominion), with a link to the metro site. You go there any it doesn't even mention the coin. The mint is selling rolls of them, and apprantly it is wrapped in paper that has the Candian's emblem

i had 2 rolls of them, at my Restaurant at one time, as change, I never kept one, I see them now and then in my change, they let some out in NB, so there are still a few available, you can get them at the mint too....

when they first come out , I've put 5 in my collection. I guess it was a good choice because I haven't see any others in circulation.

Only 450,000 were minted for circulation (which started in May 2008)and every Quebecer wanted one as a keepsake, most were disappointed. The Caisse Desjardins branches strictly enforced the rules, i.e. only 2 per customer and none if you dont have an account. Forget about asking for a roll, I tried and you should have seen the look I got. I got a friend in QC to get me a few from the Caisse and ended up with 3 good ones and 5 circs. Dealers are trying to sell them for $3.00 here in Montreal. If anyone wants to trade for these or my brand new NHL loonies let me know!

I hope to be going to Ottawa this week I think I'll stop in at the mint and see if they have any left, maybe they will have some Montreal Canadian rolls by then that they might be willing to part with. I'll let you guys know.
