Although I've never seen this particular mint mark -- a star -- before, I have seen this "rough" texture (instead of the more popular smooth polished finish) on 1 oz gold buffalo coins.

@beast, first welcome to CCF. Second, can you please add a close-up pic of that five-pointed star? It doesn't look like there is a letter in the center, but it would be good to confirm. Thx. For example, I see that Regency mint seems to use a star with a letter R in the center.

There was a thread recently concerning this exact bullion silver round - a rough-field Indian Head / Buffalo with a star.
Unfortunately, no one could supply any attribution.

I'm not sure the star is supposed to be a mintmark - it may not "mean" anything other than the artist deciding "I think a star would look cool there".
