Looks more like a stain. A die crack would be raised above the surface.

The color change between the L&T in liberty, leads me to believe, there is something on the coin

Sharkbait, you have a good eye! Another Die Crack across the hair line above the ear rim to rim. Last pic shows it well. Never found one on a dime, congrats!

I'm not convinced its a die crack. I believe keith12 is onto something.

ijn1944 What do you think it is? I see A crack between T & L in Liberty to the rim from his forehead and two cracks on the right side from the back of his head to the rim. Regards!

I need to ask a question here - Is the area above the head (the darkened area from the 'crack' [not saying it is yet] to the rim filled up to the edge of the rim? I think it is glue or something like that, as Keith noted.
Can you post up another picture of this feature at a low (not edge on, but just above it) angle showing the rim above the head?

Better pics needed for sure, but it looks like it could be a rim to rim die crack.

IF the surface is level, then it is just a stain. If it were a die crack, it would be raised, not level.
