Yes not a mint error but rather damage. My best guess is someone hammering in the tip of a flat head screwdriver.
Also, @dak, it looks like you might be cropping pics to get them under the size limit. That is fine and works well for showing closeups of specific areas. Yours are perfect! For the overalls though, please use the free software to keep the whole coin in view. Thx!
to CCF Please, post up a full coin image of both sides first, then maybe 2 or 3 nice close images of areas of concern. If we think that more are needed someone will request it in what ever location that is needed at that point.
Anyway, this is just a damaged cent - a screwdriver and hammer could possibly be the culprit here.
