@trip, there was lots of Machine Doubling on cents in this timeframe. Have you compared your cent to the two known DDOs yet? Here is a link to the varietyvista site to help you:

Welcome to a great place to learn and share!!!!

. I'm not so sure about that Coinfrog!

Really tough, for me anyway! I've spent endless hours looking at Variety Vista, and even when I see clear pictures, with bright coloured arrows, and flashing halogen lights, I still don't see it. LOL! I probably wouldn't if the DD came out and slapped me on the forehead! LOL!

To me, Machine Doubling is much more striking and obvious. However, it's not much of value, from what I understand. Many times, I look at pictures of doubled dies, and there's really not much there to impress me. I have to also mention that many times, I'll think to myself, "That's it?" "What's the big hoofla about this anyway?"

The 1955 is the only DD that I can clearly see, and impresses me, for now anyway.

I guess, practice makes perfect!

Perseverance is probably key. Or at least, I hope so. Won't give up! Can't wait to train these eyes of mine!

The devices on your coin are normal sized. On a doubled die these devices would be enlarged:

Note the enlarging of the devices?

Yes, the big ones are obvious. Honestly, the others don't show up, no matter how hard I look!
